What is mental health?

Mental health refers to a person’s emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing. It affects how they think, feel, and act. Mental health includes both positive states (mental wellbeing) and negative states (mental illness).
Many factors can impact a person's mental health. These include things like social interactions, family history, major life events, global events, stress, illness, genetics, nutrition, and lifestyle. All of these can influence someone’s mental state.

Things to do when you feel down

Exercise: Running, bike riding, yoga, lifting weights, gardening, taking a walk, swimming, playing a sport.
Comfort: Cooking, reading, having a nap, taking a shower/bath, doing chores, playing with a pet, talking to plants/toys, reorganising something.
Social: Talk to a friend, Talk to an adult (teacher, parents, therapist, etc), Do something fun, Watch a movie, Go window shopping, Walk someones dog (or your own), help around the house, Call a helpline.
